Project Management
College and university grantees nearly always manage their own grant
projects. However, there are circumstances when the need to outsource
project management is called for, such as illness, sabbaticals, or
other unforeseen
events. Obvioulsy, the transition to an outside management entity is
crucial, usually requiring the project manager to visit the college and
meet with project partners.
Grants Gateway has a prepared Capabiility Statement that details its
experience and areas of expertise with regard to international business
education and training projects, and we are pleased to make this
available to anyone interested in our project management services.
Because we have written and directed
many grant projects, and because we are intimately familiar with the
federal funding agencies and their regulations, we think that we would
make a good choice of project manager. Having said that, however,
outsourcing probably works best if and only if the project is not local
in nature. The less it is confined to campus and local community, the
more it would lend itself to distanced [absentee] management.
